Even as a little girl I dreamed of a gorgeous millionaire picking me up at home in his Porsche. The scene was so firmly fixed in my head that I was convinced it would happen exactly like that. Later came the wave of "The Secret". Wishes were supposed to come true that easily. So meeting a millionaire, so to speak, as well. According to the book and the movie, I just had to really want it and my wishes would come true.

I wanted to prove to my girlfriends, who always smiled at me indulgently, that my wishes and exact ideas would come true. So I set out and went looking online for my millionaire. I could already see his face right in front of me, he already felt that close.

I bet it works: meeting a millionaire!

I figured I would simply be bold and put it into words exactly like that: meet a millionaire! My description of myself was clear and to the point, and now I waited to see whether he would message me. My inbox was full right away, and some men even insulted me, asking who I thought I was.

It was a bit crushing, but I didn't want to give up. I was still sure: He will come! It went so far that two of my friends made bets with me that I would fall in love with a completely different man. Bet accepted. It wasn't about much, but they definitely get to pay for the night out at the club.

I also already know how I'll present myself once he gets in touch:

I also already know how I'll present myself once he gets in touch:

  • Look attractive
  • Seem mysterious
  • Don't show what you really want
  • Radiate self-confidence

And then something happened that I could hardly believe. A man wrote to me who matched exactly this picture. His message was full of wit and said that he absolutely wanted to get to know me. My directness appealed to him and he had never read anything like it. Bernd is 45 and an entrepreneur. He said he wanted to join in on the fun.

Meeting a millionaire - nothing ventured, nothing gained
The meeting actually happened and turned out completely differently than expected. He didn't show up in a fine suit, but in jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers. I was quite surprised, but didn't let it show at all. Now I had my date and realized that it wasn't so easy to be completely self-confident.

We got along very well right away and wanted to meet up again. By now, though, I didn't feel so good anymore, because I had taken a liking to him. To put it plainly: I developed feelings very quickly. I hope it's mutual!
