Looking for a Millionaire - But Where Do You Find One?

My best friend couldn't believe her ears! "I've had enough of Max! He has absolutely nothing to offer me!" Max has been my boyfriend for two years and he's constantly broke. No money, and I even have to help out at the gas station again and again. Taking me out to dinner? Absolutely not, and it all started so differently.
In the beginning I got flowers, he took me out and he was generous. Little by little, though, the truth came out. He had been living far beyond his means, the bank simply shut down his account, and now he has to pay everything off bit by bit. The money problems have put an enormous strain on our relationship.
I told my friend during a relaxed, boozy evening: "We should just make it easy on ourselves and "look for a millionaire". She laughed and didn't take me seriously at all after the fourth cocktail. But I meant what I said, and she would soon see it clearly with those doe-brown eyes of hers.
He came, he saw, he conquered!
Four weeks later I was on vacation with her in St. Tropez. It had always been our dream. To just dive into the world of the rich and beautiful for once. We wanted to be able to say whether it's really as lovely on France's southern beaches as people say. And I can truly give it two thumbs up.
- Beautiful people
- Wealthy men
- Pure luxury
- Chic boutiques
- Fantastic food
- Hot rides
And there he was. The dark-haired man in white linen pants. He truly had taste. I kept glancing at him secretly while sipping my Orangina at the beach bar. I had almost forgotten about him when he talked to me around midnight.
I could hardly believe it. This handsome and obviously rich man had spoken to me, of all people. In that moment I wasn't thinking about the fact that I had set myself the goal of "looking for a millionaire".

Do wishes really come true that easily?
Back home, Claude and I were already firmly connected on WhatsApp. He made such an effort with me. His parents own a long-established fashion company in Paris. He had studied medicine in Munich and speaks excellent German. I like his personality and not just his money. I knew my "look for a millionaire" line was more of a joke, and yet I pulled him into my life.
He was simply there and never left. It's indescribably wonderful with him. Making wishes come true in life seems to be quite simple after all. My girlfriends are busy wishing hard, and "looking for a millionaire" is number 1 on their list. Of course, you have to do something for your happiness!
